RL103: 5 Critical Traits for Founders
Share

Starting a company is incredibly challenging.

I’ve done hard things in the military, but I’m always blown away by how much more difficult starting a company is and how different the challenge is.

Even in the most difficult military courses, most of the challenge comes down to the individual - are they tough enough, in good enough physical shape, can they be decisive and think on their feet?

Success in business requires a different set of skills.

Being a founder or business executive requires us to be proficient in many domains -

  • Leadership

  • Finance & Accounting

  • Marketing & Sales

  • Operations & Client Fulfillment

The founder skillset is diverse and broad, but after observing dozens of founders over the years, there are a few common traits that stand out among the most successful.

This post is a deep dive into some of those traits and how to build them.
