This afternoon, I spoke with a military veteran who recently transitioned into a career in financial services, working at a large bank.

It was unsurprising that I heard from this person that they felt imposter syndrome - the new role is a mile-a-minute, and there is an incredibly steep learning curve for new hires in finance.

The call brought me back to how it felt when I first walked into Goldman Sachs in my first civilian job after departing the Marine Corps.

I was nervous, excited, and somehow felt out of place and at home.

This week’s post is about imposter syndrome, stepping into the unknown, and growing into a role.
